ok so I'm kinda stuck creating a look for this chaos warband. Most of what I know is that I want it to be khorne heavy and perhaps mainly consist of marines from my Minotaur army that have fallen to chaos and organised their own warband. My main issue really is colour scheme, as I want to avoid the typical red with gold trim you'd see on anything even resembling a world eater, but at the same time I want them to still give off that sorta personality with their colours

Partially due to some fun sounding rules/equipment in the crimson slaughter book I'm tempted to give chaos marines a second swing. (the first time kinda fell short due to lack of direction on my part), and I kinda have a general idea for an army idea for a fast khorny assault based army.

It’d mostly centre around a khorne lord on a juggernaut backed up by a group of bikers to race for something important but killable (e.g tau pathfinders) and them move from target to target to disrupt. then maybe a maulerfiend or two as some more fast assaulty bricks. add to that a pair of hellbrutes being babysat by a warpsmith for some 2nd wave assaulting (as they move much slower) and minor shooting. add a couple units of marines for some objective grabbing and deployment zone support.

I know it’s far FAR from a strong competitive list, but that’s not really my sorta play style to begin with but it seems like something that could be fun to use and follows a strong theme, though I'm always open to suggestions

Mostly uni and life related things have taken over for the last, year and a bit? That's a long time! Heck I havent even had the time for much in the way of personal projects (or at least those that'd be interesting).

40k side of things I have a couple projects planned. mostly consisting of an Inquisitorial/Deathwatch/Mechanicus force utilising the grey knight book, quite likely is also an Imperial knight come my birthday in may. and I have a tiiiny bit of temptation to pick up chaos marines again, kinda lost interest in them partially due to me not really knowing what I wanted to do with them first time around, but combine the new Helbrute with the mutation/possession heavy crimson slaughter book and it may give me some inspiration.

As imagined (seen as it's kinda my focus at uni) my 3D modelling has gotten a fair bit better, though currently I'm working on learning normal mapping for various reasons, may upload some of that another time.

Anything else? I dunno, but hey I'm gonna try and be a bit more present here now!

Been wanting to do more character conversions for my Minotaurs and I have found a fair few greek characters that could translate well into some of the marine special characters, ripe for some conversion work! read more for anyone mad enough to delve into my ramblings

so we start off with Marneus Calgar as Hercules twin power fists seems appropriate for herculean strength

Achilles works well for Captain Sicarius as both are renowned generals and both are pretty tough (sicarius having 2+ armour 4+ invun and feel no pain)

Kor'sarro Khan as Orion mostly because they're both hunters

Vulkan He'stan as promethius because FIRE FIRE FIRE (also the association between promethius and science linking with vulkans status as forge father)
Kayvaan Shrike as Icarus mostly because they both fly, but I could also use shrikes  overall idea of being stealthy as an excuse to model a "post-fall" Icarus

Pedro Kantor as Philoctetes, phil being an archer and pedro armed with dorns arrow, also could explain pedros "inspiring presence" in his rules as, you always work harder when teachers around, as phil is known as the trainer of heroes

and finally Darnath lysander, as the spartan general Lysander, nothing else to it really
